Once again the weather gods shined down on Port Road, and even though it was meant to rain, it didn't. Unfortunately, the wind was a little harsh, which would have made things a little difficult for the spectators, but even still, we had a large crowd on hand to catch the spectacle.
A big thanks to Burger Fuel for their continued support, and to all our sponsors, because without them (check out the sponsors area), it would be near on impossible to get things going each year.
It seems we are getting better with our organisation of the day, so everything went so smoothly that soon after lunch we had found our class winners. Overall winner with a fastest time of 6.557 was Ben Morris in his white 69 Camaro.
We had some pretty impressive burnouts, with double blow outs to Dave Fishwick in his '70' VG Pacer.
Also to get a special mention is to our boys (and girls) in blue. They were on hand to make sure that everything off the track went as smoothly as on the track. It's awesome to have them there, backing us as we concentrate on making the day a great spectacle for all.
A big thanks to all the champ cars that were on hand to show off how the professional do it. The bikes are always a crowd pleaser. Junior dragsters show that even from a young age, you can get into motorsport. Pete Meo (Cam County) also had his NZ1 Chevy Vega on hand for people to see.
Keep an eye out on the multi-media section as we will post some footage of the day, and we'll see you all next year at PORT ROAD!!
